Dying digitata!!!!

Thank you for your help. Do you think it can survive 12 hours out of water? It seems like parts of it are still alive but about 80% of it turned black. Any advice?

sponges do not like to be taken out of the water. dead sponges can also cause problems in your tank. sponge also need the right food or they come/go IMO. I hope it does well for you.

Most of it turned black probably from being out of the water or the fact that my tank was cycling or the sudden water change or all of the above but it but now spots are starting to come back. What do they eat?

They filter feed the water, so any food for filter feeders

Digitata red is a SPS in the Montipora family. You won't find it anywhere in the states other than pet shops. Possibly a sponge or seaweed.

Yes we pretty much addressed this about 6 weeks ago, not looking at the date of a post or reading all of them gets me every once in a while LOL :blown:
