the lfs by my house has a neon green plate coral showing tissue regression.........it looks bad.
now the thing is, when healthy this thing is AWESOME
i could get it for about 20 bucks......

i have approprate cal, mg, and alk....
but only 4 t5 ho lights on a 75 gallon (225 watts)

if i got it would it be a lost cause?
would extra feedings help?

it looks turrble, but i bought a elegance from them that wasnt doing so well and i nursed that back to health.........

is this just a bad idea?

Just my opinion, I had a few gorgeous plate corals that receded and never made a recover, my LFS gave me a free plate coral that was more than half receded and I put it in my reef and it faded and receded until it was a white skeleton. I personal would stay away from the receding plate coral.

Maybe someone else might have had better luck with a receding plate coral!

its a short tentacled plate...neon green with little white balls on the tips........the balls are about 2 times the diameter of the tentacles themselves (which are probably around 1-2 inches in length a peice)

I have a orange plate that I bought sickly and died, about a month later now it's starting to bud up orange flesh all over so it may be salvagable.

target feed it with mysis shrimp and see if it eats. As long as it can eat, it will rebuild the skin to cover back the skeleton plate. You'll be surprise when these fungia coral plate eat and how much they can eat. Put the food right on top of its mouth.

Let us know your progress.

okeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
getting it cheap on the low down tommorow...
will try and set up the photobucket thing...........
so we will see
