Dying Turbo snails ='(

I had 5 turbo snails about two weeks ago and I have now lost two of them. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they were trapped upside down?

The reason I asked was because my LFS was saying he was having a bit of trouble lately with Turbo snails coming in dead or dying shortly after. I was wondering if yours had something wrong to begin with and it was just a matter of time.

Do you have any similarly sized hermit crabs that might be looking for a new home? That is a known issue for keeping crabs..I lost a few due to that as well :(

Are they getting enough food? I lost one of them a few months ago to what I'm pretty sure was starvation. My tank is ULN and doesn't have much algae at all.

Yes my tank is fairly new so I have plenty of algae growing now, thats why i bought them. my salinity is 1.024 and I did two weeks ago add two more fish and a cleaner shrimp.

I dislike turbos. They seem to die easily and fall off the walls and die if you aren't watchful. I have two, but they came in a pack. I wish i had requested to swap them to something different. One seems to be ok, the larger one i am flipping over every morning.

I'm having the same problem.
I've had my (4) Mexican turbo snails for almost 6 days. Today I noticed my water was low in my 50g which is where they are. I topped it off.

I noticed two were at the bottom laying on their sides and one looks like he hasn't moved off the rock he has been on for 2 days. The other is in the back of the tank and haven't seen him enough to notice if he is getting around much either.

My parameters were measured the other day and everything was fine. Water was a little low so salinity could be an issue. Other than that they seem lethargic and aren't moving much. I got them because the sea hare I has died a week ago for some reason.

I flipped the two on their sides back over and placed one on a rock and the other on the glass. The one I put on the glass started sucking himself to it immediately as well as the one I put on the rock. Hopefully they will be ok. Any suggestions?

Also, there is still plenty of algae to eat.

I bought three turbos. For some reason, one of them never came out and died about a week later. (helped cycle the tank I guess) The other two have been eating like teenagers :)

Do you have brown snotty algae? If you do, it might be dinoflagellates, and if turbos or other snails eat that, they will die.

Upon conducting a internet search I can almost positively say no, I do not have this snotty algae in my tank. However, sometimes things like this elude us. So maybe, but none is visible to me atm.

They are just sitting there. Now I will move them to show you how they just go back to laying on their sides.

I only have one, but sometimes he does the same thing. He'll park for awhile, but normally resumes his grazing within a day or so. I think they stop to poop to be honest. I never see him moving when he's taking a dump.

It's a little weird that his foot isn't fully expanded. I've only seen that happen when I had two and the one died from lack of food.
