I noticed that it seems very loud. I can tell when my maxijets need their impellers clean.

That's because sounds travels through water, and can get amplified using water as a sound board.

Well, the ocean's pretty noisy anyways. I'm sure they're use to it to some degree. Besides, I don't think they're sitting there going "Oh the noise, the fishanity! Make it stop!"

Hmmm, very odd. I put my ear to my tank and heard some mumbling then a sudden, "Shhhhh, his listening". I quickly went to the side of my tank (out of direct eye shot of the fish) and listened again. It seems my tank inhabitants are trying to form a coup against me. Here's a quick dialog.
Yellow Tang: "Is, is he gone?"
Hippo Tang: "Yea, I can't see him anymore."
Yellow: "Ok, here's the plan. Tommorow, you're gonna look really sick, I mean play it up good."
Hippo: "Ok, I can do that. Should I just kinda float around on my side, or twitch a bit too?"
Yellow: "Yea yea, twitch some, that'll get that dumb human really scared."
Hippo: "Ok."
Emerald Crab: "I'll post in quadrant three, sector twelve, level four sir!!"
Yellow: ?????????
Emerald: "The top rock in the center."
Yellow: "Correct."
Emerald: "I'll pretend to eat some of that nasty hair algea that keeps popping up."
Yellow: "Yea, that's good. Hippo, make sure you twitch around down by Anemone so Maroon Clown can strike."
Hippo: "Got it."
Yellow: "Ok, now when human guy reaches in to get Hippo, Maroon will strike first."
Maroon: "My aim will be true sir!"
Yellow: "Then Emerald, you latch on when he pulls his fin, er, uh, hand away. We'll show that dumb human what happens when he neglects to get rid of all this hair algea! He thinks we're gonna eat this crap, but boy does he have another thing coming!"
That was all I could bare to listen to. Fortunately, my cleaner shrimp is on my side and he's running intel for me, along with my Mexican Red Leg Hermits.

yeah it is really loud, i never did that with my current tank, but my old one was really loud lol
