Earlei Wrasse a Reality

You guys are all welcome to come over and look anytime, however you will be frisked for plastic bags and nets. My next 3 wrasses are boarding a plane in Hawaii today and will be in Nebraska tommorrow. I will start a new thread for them. A pair and a male(hybrid) is all you get for now ;) I personally have never seen the pair in the USA, but I have only been wrasse crazy for a few years now.

Inside info, they are COOL fish!

group buy?

I should do a group buy when I set up an order with Koji, the frieght to get 3 little wrasses to Hawaii from Japan runs you about $150 a fish so more fish would reduce the shipping cost per fish. I believe this is why you never see the fish I am getting in the USA, the frieght is almost more than the fish. Although this order had a total of 9 fish and the frieght was as much as it was. I am a little panicked now that I realized that tommorow is one of the busiest travel days of the year and my fish are flying United. Hopefully its another non incidental trip as before.

Man Jim, I am probably more excited than you are!

I can't wait to see what all you have coming.

I woke up this morning and told Megan that is was an exciting day for me.........
She asked why and I said someone on RC is getting some new fish...
Her response.... Ok then, why is it exciting for you?
My response..... Duh, I am living vicariously through him...

Gah, I am a fish dork.

I know this isn't exactly related to this thread but I'm really hoping to get some advise from someone who keeps that many different wrasses. I am getting addicted with wrasse lately as well but I'm running into trouble of possible aggression..

Is there a certain way / stocking order that would help reduce the aggression?

Or is it simply because it's a huge tank that is spreading the aggression of your fish?

I'm only adding my second species of fairy wrasse in my tank and I'm already seeing slight aggression from my labouti wrasse. I was hoping I could add more different type into my 180 gallon.

I hope I'm not taking over your thread, I am only wanting to learn from the expert... Thank you.

Steven

Its always been my experience that how you introduce seems to be as important as what you introduce. There are some wrasses that are agressive by nature but I have 16 different variety of fairy's and agression seems to be hit and miss. I always introduce them via a breeder or some type of clear container so they can't be harmed and it alows you to see potential agression issues. It also lets everyone get used to the new guy. I typically release after the lights go out and its dark this way they can settle in for the night without getting harassed. If I see any agression the next day I will kill the lights for 24 hours or so. After all this I rarely see agression and everyone gets along.
