Assuming such a thing exists, is there a pipefish that is the hardiest, or best survival rate?

Are they best purchased in twos/pairs?

Thanks for any input.

I currently have 1 Jan's Pipefish and he is a real hardy fish that is doing well in my tank. Currently have him in there with a banggii cardnial and two small clowns. I believe it would be a good choice but then again it all depends on the personality of the fish you get. Good Luck and be sure to post pics once you make up your mind....

ive heard that the D. dactyliophorus is one of the easiest pipefish to keep...... but i dont have much experiance with them. Let us know what you find out!

Jann's are great! The little blue striped pipes are easy too. The few that I've bought all ate frozen cyclopeeze, brine, and mysid.

As long as you get them healthy from the start, all the flagtail pipefish are fairly easy to keep and take to frozen pretty quickly. Some of the US native pipefish are pretty easy as well, such as the gulf pipes and pug nose pipes.
