Easy blue/purple OR green SPS???

I have a 28 g. (stock combo blue and white CF light) nano cube with softies, LPS, RBTA and a pink birdsnest that is doing well on a rock near the top of the tank?

I'm looking to add one or two more SPS that are easy and require similar or less light to the pink birdsnest. Specificially, I'm looking for ones that have good color and are green or purple/blue? What do you suggest?

Thanks

You will need more light than that.

The pink birdnest is doing well and I know of several folks that have kept SPS in the top portion of CF tanks like this.

Are you suggesting Blue/Purple or Green SPS need more light than pink birdnest OR are you questioning any SPS in this tank?

I have found most montipora to grow very well even in lower lighting. They won't have as bright of colors but they should do okay. There are all sorts of colors of m. capricornis, or m. digitata, and they are quick growers. I'm not surprised your seriatopora is doing well, mine seem to do best at the bottom of my tank in lower light. I would probably stay away from acropora considering your light level. Most montis are pretty forgiving, and hardy.

Can you post pics of your birdsnest? I would save the money and get another light. Honestly there is nothing you can say for that light to be "approved" for sps in this forum section, just being honest.

Maybe you could try a Green Pocillopora, but it might turn brown.

You might be able to pull off a Hydnophora up high as well.

Good Luck.

I have a 28g nano cube with the 105w of pc lighting, and would never put a sps into it. Ill leave that for my MH/T5 reef.

Seriously though, with that lighting (and Im not just hating, I own the same tank) you are not going to be able to keep nice colorful sps.

Are you dosing alk and ca? Are you monitoring these values? If not dont even start SPS unless you want RTN/STN

Ponape Birdsnest, my red planets have done well under CFs before, cats paw, chalices, montiporas(encrusting)- that's what I have gotten to live under CF, also have done well before under my radion

Montis. Green birdsnest is also pretty colorful. I had a monti cap and a green pocci at the top of my biocube with stock lights and it grew pretty good. Grew faster with LEDs, but I did see significant growth with the PCs. For purple, look into a bird of paradise or purple stylo. Not sure I'd even try an acro, but there are other sticks you can get away with.
