ok just a quick back ground. Ive been in aquariums for 1 year now with SW for only 5 months. I have a standard 75g FOWLR, 20ish gallon sump/refuge, 96watts of light, HOB skimmer, 1 YWG and 1 Chromis and 1 cleaner shrimp, and up since sept. 7th. ok so now on to my questions.
My original intent for this tank was to be a fowlr becuase i had not a lot of knowledge in SW tanks. as i got more along, I read more and more and I believe i now have enough knowledge to maintain a reef (hopefully). I know that since i have pracitcally no lighting i have like no corals to choose from but I do know i have a few. My plan (that my mom gave me the idea of) is to think of the corals i can keep in my tank and then look at compatible fish.
I currently have a kenya tree i got 2 days ago. I havent noticed any problem with it so im hoping that is a good sign. What i need to know is a list (preferably) of corals that while live HAPPY AND HEATHY in my tank with 96watts of light a moderate to high flow. I know most soft corals will work. I was hoping i could get some zoas in there also. from what i know the following should work (these are just broad corals, not to fancy with their names): polyps, star polyps, shrooms, zoas, and what ever kenya trees are clasified in. are there any others that i missed?
ok now my next questions. Once i know the corals i want to and can get, i can look for fish i can get. I was hoping for a rabbitfish but from talking to fellow reefers i guess they will eat zoas and polyps. my options are open to all offers of fish fish and corals. if you know of easy corals to grow and easy fish to raise and are compatible with those corals, please post a reply.
thanks so much for helping me!
