Easy motorized gate valve

I was installing power windows in a customers car last week and the idea hit me. I'm not sure there is any real use for it but I've been looking for such a solution for my zeroedge project. Worthless or not it works, someone may find it useful.

These power window motors come with everthing needed. Just remove the knob from a gate valve and install the motor per the instructions with the appropriate adapter.

Mine will close the gate valve if power ever fails or my sump has a high water issue. I dont have them yet but I did try it out with the kit I installed in my customers car and it worked perfectly.

FWIW a 1" pvc pipe fits perfectly into the drive assy. Sort of makes me think seaswirl or wavysea.

Hmmm. I think the Seaswirl Wavysea thoughts might be worth pursuing. The first thought that comes to mind is durability. I don't know what sort of testing those motors go through if any, but do you have any idea how long they would last?

No clue. I put a pair on my old truck 6 years ago and they still work. Ive got a pair comming and already have a drive tube assy for my diy sea swirls. I'll stick it in a bucket for awhile and see what happens.

Jandy valve actuators sell on eBay all the time for between $25 and $125. They fit standard hayward pool valves that range from 2 ports to 5 ports. No adaptors to build or limit switches to rig up.

On the other hand... I don't see why the actuators DON would be that hard to retrofit.

Jandy gate valve or ball type valve?
