Hi all, I have a 6g Nano Cube, with 54w PC lighting. I have had a red/orange monti cap for a 3 months now, it is growing and looking fine. Growth is slow no doubt, but visible. My two SPS are outnumbered by zoanthids, hairy shrooms, stripped shrooms, GSP and xenia.
Tank will have its one year aniversary this week, and i do religous NSW water changes twice a week (10-20%). I have a macro algae for nutrient export in my built in sump, and run activated carbon. Params are good, but certainly not the crystal clear standard SPS params (ie: nitrates near, but certainy not 0). I have not dosed calcium or alk, my water changes keep calcium around 380, tho I think I will start weekly dosing now that I added a new SPS.
I just bought a montipora digitata, green encrusting frag. I have placed it in the area i reserved for something tall, 1/2 way up in my tank, placing the frag on its side ( Iwant the branches to grow up) . As space is limited, it is near, but not touching, a couple colonies of zoanthids (like 2" close). I hope to have the zoanthids cover the rock near and around the digi. My understanding is that these two corals are relatively peaceful, and I can do this. Anyone run a mixed, small tank like this? Any thoughts?
Tank shot, imagine it with the leather gone, a couple small frags of zoas in its place and one small monti digi frag (the leather found a new home in a much larger tank, as it was too big for my small tank. live and learn!)
