EB8 cord length

Due to outlet location and where I want to place my controller parts, it looks like I would need an extension cord to mount the box where I wanted. I then though about just adding a new cord to the EB8, so I'm wondering if that would cause a warranty concern?
Does anyone use extension cords? I'll email support to see what they say about a new longer cord.

It uses a standard male/male usb cord, just don't use one with any boosters or repeaters. If you can't find one long enough, there are people here that have had custom length cords made. You might try searching the forum, I don't remember the company that makes them.
