EB8 Issue!

Hey RC,

I´m having a issue with my outlet 3 on the EB8.
I used these commands to turn a pump on and off.

[PUMP_OUTLET]
SET OFF
If time 11:00 to 11:05 then ON

The pumps turns ON at 11:00 but NOT turn OFF after 11:06 (11:05:59)..
This is happening only on EB8_3. Can someone help?

My APEX version is 4.04_2B11
Tks!

If I understand correctly, the pump did in fact turn OFF but not at the desired time? If so, that is because the Time command is accurate to 1 minute. So 'If Time 11:00 to 11:05 Then ON' is TRUE until 11:06. If you need exactly 5 minutes duration, change to 11:04.

Hi Todd,
the pump simply DON´T turns OFF!! It stays ON until i manually unplug it from the EB8!!

Russ,
What´s a "TRIAC low power"? I´m using a MaxJet 900.

Tks guys!

Outlets 1-3 & 5-7 use solid-state switches called TRIACs; outlets 4 & 8 use mechanical relays. TRIACs have numerous advantages over relays. But the one notable drawback is that they do not deal well with devices which have a very low current draw. On the EBx, small things like dosing pumps and some smaller powerheads may not shut off reliably. Your MJ900 is a perfect example. As I said, move the pump and associated programming to outlet 4 or 8 and you will be fine.

Tks Russ, i'll change and tell you if it works or not.

So, how can i know which kind of pump should i use in 1-3 & 5-7?
I'm wondering to use pumps for ATO and Water Changes and now i'm in doubt in what pump to use!

Tks again!

As a general guideline, anything having a rated load of <5-7 watts is likely to have problems on a TRIAC-switched outlet. YMMV.

From users experience, it seems that anything over 5W usually works. But always test any critical hardware.

Nevermind, Russ beat me to it. :)

FWIW - on my old AC3 & DC8, a MJ900 had to be on a relay outlet but a MJ1200 was fine on a TRIAC outlet.
