Has anyone ever bought any PC light fixtures off of ebay? There is a 260W PC, brand name is Jebo or something like that but with shipping its 110.00 any thoughts?

i just got one from ebay , was drop off by ups yesterday

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=46314&item=7773543177

was fast shipping and a great rpice, for think they are a low end of lights i think they are great so far.

i was going to get an orbit or coralife but after see the price on that light i was able to get the light and some more stuff for my tank.

the higher end MH jebo light i have read some bad things about them but nothing on the lower end ones like the 4x65. i think when i am ready for a MH it will be a coralife retro kit or somthing good by name.

my local shop wanted like 300.00 the internet wanted from 200 to 250 + shipping. and i ran across the ones on ebay. so far i am very happy with it.

came with everthing listed well packed.

though i dont like the moon light as much as my old UV 40 W but i may switch some lighing around and i am running the new 4x65 and 2 x40W one an ultra UV and one is a 50/50 looked better with my added lights

watch out for the jebo lights...they are cheap and have been known to catch on fire!!!!

So have the Geissmans, and they certainly aren't low end.

the only info i found on that was here and some out on the net and so far they where related to the MH version.

not sure i would buy that one myself after the info i had found on it. but i went ahead and grabed the 4 x65 for now hoping that not the case with the 4x65 isnt so and when i am ready for a MH it will not be a jebo MH. i am hoping that the 4x65 can give me about a year or less out of it before i get a good MH

I have the jebo 4x65 PC and I can tell you why they are so much cheaper. First is the wiring, have you seen the price of copper lately. Instead of wiring all the ballast individually, they are wired together. So you can't timer the bulbs on at different times. You have to use the switches. (I knew this ahead of time and was prepared to wire in individual plugs for all the ballasts). The next thing is the fans. They are junk. One burnt out in less than a month. There are some good fans out there that are the same size (another upgrade I did to my fixture). And the last is the bulbs they use. They are very poor quality. I accidentaly broke one bulb when I wired up the fixture for individual power cords and replaced it with a quality bulb I could find locally and the difference was unbelievable. So I replaced all the bulbs when I decided to switch from FOWLR to reef. With all the extra I spent and the time it took to do the work I wish I would have bought an Orbit like my brother's.

I've heard a LOT of horror stories about Jebo/Odyssea catching fire, failed ballasts, bad bulbs, mismatched bulbs, DOA fixtures, etc..

I'd stay away from it.

mine has 3 power cords one for each set of light 12K/atinic/4 moons.

the fans are nothing that cant be redone, good fans can be picked up anywhere off a computer site, hell i have them just laying around for that matter.

as for the bulbs i guess i cant do nothing about that but replace them in time for somthing better ever if i have to replace the bulb plug. for me the unit is more parts then anything else over time but still better then the 4x 40W 4ft bulbs i was running.

but if you have the money then yes there are better lights out there.
