can anyone tell me a bit about echinos i have been looking at them for a while but cant find much information on them anything would be helpful thanks i was hoping to buy some this weekend but would like to know what im getting into 1st

Possibly because that term is slang. Could be Echinphyllia or Echinopora without looking more up, and both are considered "chalice' corals. Try looking through here:
