Eco Tech Marine Battery or APC UPS

If you have EcoTech pumps, a DC battery is a much better way to go. You will get much longer run time.

I use a single ecotech battery for two of my MP10s. It's suppose to power them something like 36 hours each if needed depending on power setting.

Yeah I just added a ecotech to both tanks. One on two mp10s and one on two mp40s. I heard the pumps never even go off if they loose power. And hey they look cool ;)

I splurged on an APC 3000 to run my return pump and skimmer pump. Since I have no high end circulation pumps the choice was simple...

I just want to keep the oxygen up... A backup air pump will also do that but sitting around in watter in the off position it will likely not work... At about 60 watts, I can tollerate the load...

Return pump should do more than enough. It's probably not going to last near as long as you might think (4-6 hours max probably vs 24-48 for vortech battery), so taking any load off of it that isn't required is a good idea.
