Is the item new to the store or is this a new product? Anyone have any experience with this?

I'm pretty close to putting water in my tank, and am on my last round of purchasing. This looks like a great deal. Any deals on refractometers out there?

I got my from ebay, he has two versions the blue and black don't know why the blue sells for more at online stores. Don't over bid since he puts new ones for bids every other day, sometimes daily. Takes about 2 weeks to get it, comes direct from Hong Kong , wrapped in paper that looks likes a brick of marijuana. I got the blue which looks exactly like the one Marinedepot sells. I would bet that they are made in the same factory.

If you're buying one of those, buy some refractometer calibration fluid with it. It says you can calibrate with RO/DI, but after I did that it was off by .004 when measuring tank water.

same thing here i calibrated it using distilled water, then several months ago during the club meeting TEST KIT night, using the calibration fluid i adjusted a little not much though. Also the water temperature has an effect on the results.

Thanks Rogger, my Ph monitor should be here on the 28th. The deal was too good to pass up and since I had a credit I jumped on it.

I received my reef fanatic ph/temp monitor and it was almost calibrated out of the box. I quickly calibrated it with the fluids it came with and thats it. It appears to be accurate and my ph is lower than my api test kit showed (about 0.2 more or less). This was a great find and thanks again rogger! Its still on their homepage at premiumaquatics even though the sale ended. If anyone wants to keep tabs on their ph and temp i recommend it.

I received mine Thursday, and my unit would not calibrate. It would be on the money for the ph7 calibration solution, but would not give a reading on the ph4 solution. I called them and they were really easy to deal with. They shipped out another one for me on Friday. I ended up getting a new refractometer too. I hope the next one works. I saw the same unit on other websites for twice the money.
