Ecotech ES vs wES

I have a 72 gal bow front with a 29 gal sump. I have 2 radion XR30w and a MP40wES and a MP10ES. My return pump is a Mag 9.5 but its loud as s*&% and I am very tempted to get a Eheim 1260 (I hear is silent no vibration noise). Anyways I have also been tempted to either return the MP10ES because I haven't used it yet or buy the upgrade module for the MP10wES. Is it worth it to have the MP10 wireless or not? I think having the MP40 wireless might be enough to have the Thunderstorm mode in the Radion's work out well! But what are all your opinions on the matter?

Eheim, YES! Any day over Mag. PERIOD. You might want to use some spa flex hosing for the initial return to cut down on any vibrations that can be made while in use, that and a mouse pad helps. Right now I have some vibrations but due to hard piping and the way everything was connected, might swap out the initial start of the hard return line to spa flex to cut back on vibrations being transferred over to the sump, which in turns creates louder vibrations. But it's a VERY quiet pump, this is my second one.

Get the MP10wES, you can run them in anti-sync mode and have them both work along with the Radion. I personally feel the MP10 is weak, MP40 is where it's at. I plan on getting another MP40wES when I have funds and then selling the MP10wES.

I agree and disagree with ek9...The Eheim is a great pump, love mine.

In my opinion the biggest reason to get the wireless option is if you are running a Neptune Apex and looking at the WXM. I have 2 10's and 1 40 on my tank, I used to have 2 radions as well so we are really in the same boat. I never had the radions and the pumps talk, I really saw no use as of yet (Ecotech might change this down the road)...Even the talking between the pumps wasnt all that great. The Anti Sync option is ok and helps with random flow but wasnt spectacular...When I got my WXM is really when I saw the MP's turn into power houses. Being able to program multiple flow options throughout the day was impressive. It really changes the dynamics of the tank and what you can do with the pumps.

Now I think MP10 is much more of a powerhouse than people give it credit for. I love my 10's and wouldnt get rid of them, they are small, quiet (mine are) and put out some nice flow.

Needless to say this is my experience, yours may differ..

I prefer my vortechs in sync. I would add the wireless module.

I have a ehiem 1260 and while its not exactly silent it is very far from noisy. Either way, I plan on it lasting me 10+ years. I have a smaller one that must be 15 years old. Worth every penny. To be fair, the pump is directly on the sump floor without any rubber feet. If I got around to putting feet on it I bet it would be silent. Mine didn't come with feet which I found odd. Still haven't contacted them about that...

Mine didnt have feet either...I took surgical rubber, cut into 3 strips and glued them to the bottom. It works very well and gives the pump a little flexibility from side to side

Can someone kind of elaborate on the differences with the MP 10 pump? I see there is es and W es and what the difference is and advantages? I plan on a 57g rimless tank with strictly zoas and palys.
