Hi!
I am upgrading my tank to a peninsula-style "40b" (34x17x17.)
I have a gen 2 Radion Pro with standard lenses, and 2 MP10Wes.
The tank will not be a full on peninsula layout, but it will be fully viewable from 1 long side, 1 short side, and about half of the second long side. Rock work will be two smallish islands with plenty of clearance on all sides, placed approximately at 1 third and 2 thirds down the length of the tank. Pretty even mix of LPS and SPS, with the corals primarily on the fully viewable long side. I will have a shallow sand bed.
On my current tank, which is 24x15x16, I have the Radion hung 9" above the water and running at 35% intensity during midday.
My questions:
1) How high should I hang the Radion for optimal coverage and minimal shadowing, and what intensity should I go to to equal the par on my current tank?
2) Given that I only want to place the Vortechs on one of the short sides and one of the long sides (I.E cannot do the "standard" opposing placement on the two short sides), how would you layout the vortechs? My two ideas are both on the 1 long side, or one on the long side and one on the short side. I could do both on the short side, but I assume that would lead to issues. Am I really going to just desperately want to upgrade one of them to a 40?
Thanks!
