Ecotech upgrade problems

I shouldn't even be posting because of how upset I am by this situation. I just received my Gen2 magnet upgrade kit today and was really looking forward to "upgrading" my 10 day old Vortech MP40W. So I open the package and there it is my new magnet and shaft. I keep digging but absolutely no instructions whatsoever. At this point I'm thinking no problem how hard can it be...famous last words. My Brand new MP40W pump is not working at all now.....hmm must have been my "lack of knowledge" on how to do the upgrade, but wait I can't find any upgrade instructions ANYWHERE on the internet. I can't even get the wet side apart to reinstall the old parts. The biggest problem, THE NEW SHAFT IS TOO TIGHT ! Now every time I try to start my pump it immediately seperates. How was I supposed to know how to do this upgrade. I figured I had just spent over $400 for this thing and surely they would at least include instructions. I even tried to call customer support before I posted this....guess what ? They're closed. Oh and did I mention that the first time I started my upgraded pump the wet side shot off and landed right in the middle of my clam.....sweeeet. Not happy at all....can anyone help ?

Ok here is what I found out.......move anything that is in your tank directly under your wet side. I have a clam with a tear in it's mantle to prove my point.
The problem I had is that I had never disassembled my pump.....it's 10 days old why would I ?
First I had to figure out that you need to remove your old wetside frame cover. Next snap the new wet side frame cover onto your wet side and twist (counterclockwise I think) not taking back apart to look, sorry, but if you look closely you can see which way to turn it. Next remove the wet side frame and remove the old screw. The new screw will be tight but just use a screwdriver to screw it in, tightness actually has nothing to do with it.....but it is a bad fit. Be careful not to strip out the head on your new shaft screw.....did I mention it's tight. The key to this whole operation is to make sure that your drive shaft is COMPLETELY seated in your wet frame, so you really have to torque that nut down tight and make sure that the ceramic bearing is COMPLETELY seated in the wet frame. If this bearing is not seated properly it will cause the entire wetside to jump off into your tank and damage your clam......oh sorry my clam.
Then reassemble and everything should be fine.
A couple of things to watch out for:
make sure you disassemble the unit, don't just think you can fit your fat fingers in there and hold the nut.
Don't strip out your new shaft screw....you'll have to get out the old flat head and cram it in there just to tighten it up.
Make sure your ceramic bearing is COMPLETELY seated in the wet frame, otherwise your wet side will jump right off the side of your tank, I think I have seen other people call this seperating but it looked like it jumped to me, kind of like when magnets repel each other.
Don't make the bonehead mistakes I did.......take your time tjis upgrade is well thought out and well worth it.
Ecotech, sorry for the previous post, I was kind of frustrated by a simple project that I made way to hard ;)
