EcoTech Vortech Power Head Placement Question

So I am going to get an EcoTech Vortech MP-10 soon.

My question is placement of the Power Head.

I currently have Hydor Koralia's on all of my Aquariums.

I have one each side in the Middle about 75% High in the Aquarium (This is how I see most people placing Non-Vortech Power Heads).

But usually when I see Vortechs in Pictures they are one on each side and in the middle of the side but it seems the difference is is that they are 50% High instead of the 75% High like you see with other Power Heads.

Why do people place Vortechs Lower than the other brands of Power Heads?

Do you have to place them like that?

If you put them to close to the surface they suck air down and it creates micro bubbles. If you want it higher you can buy one of the acrylic shields out there to stop that.

I have mine about 8 inches below the surface. Matty is right, if you put them too close to the surface they will create a suction.

On the left or right side in the middle or away from it directly toward rocks
