Ecoxotic Panorama pro fixture - thoughts?

I was contemplating possibly purchasing one of the ecoxotic panorama pro fixtures. I know ecoxotic has recently discontinued this fixture recently due to the new model coming out. But any thoughts or opinions on this fixture? Anyone know how the par reading were?

I'm running the panorama modules (individual strips) on my 75 (LPS and softies) and everyone seems happy (was trying to keep my costs down so I only have 3 of the 8k Whites and 2 of the 453nm Blues spread over the tank). The blues I picked up don't have reflectors so the spread is great. The 8k Whites are focused over my rock/coral and seem to be doing a good job so far. Sorry, I don't have any PAR ratings in my tank but I know there are PAR values floating out there.... check this page out: http://blog.aquanerd.com/2010/02/ecoxotic-panorama-module-par-numbers.html.

I'm also coming off using the Marineland "Reef Capable" LED strips so that's not saying much but I'm also using only 65watts to light my tank right now and my electric bill (and aquarium) look much better than when I was running VHOs.

I actually just took down my 90 to start upgrading to 180. I had two of the 17.5 fixtures and loved them. No heat in the tank, no fan noise, nice design, and awesome growth from my corals(lps, softies, one sps)

I wouldn't buy the original Panorama fixture. I would wait for the Pro version that is thinner and more powerful.

I've been using Ecoxotic for a couple years now, and honestly I wouldn't buy any of there products again. The growth rate for corals is poor compared to T5's and MH, and the leds in the strips keep having issues. That goes for the panorama pros and original. Out of 13 different modules (including warranty ones), I've had issues with 12. LEDs go dim, burn out and so on. Ecoxotic tries to blame me, they say it's an electrical issue (even thought I have a 20 amp dedicated breaker), a heat issue (even though I have two 4" fans on my canopy) or user error. My LFS runs them on their tanks, and they've had similar led issues. Just a warning, but only my experience. Also, I took pictures and kept a log on growth rates, and I saw probably an 80% drop in growth rate from MH and T5's. The corals lived, but growth slowed considerably.

I love my 17.5" Panorama

I love my 17.5" Panorama

Excellent results so far (6 months) - but my tank is fairly shallow (22"). Good growth rates (as good or better than T5) in my SPS.

I am waiting for the new Pro model to come out so that I can buy two for my tank at home (the other fixture is on my smaller tank at work).
