Good lord!

Black-tip sharks are born at 60 cm and attains 200 cm. Males and females mature at about 110 cm and about 115 cm respectively.

60 cm = 23.6"

200 cm = 78.7"

110 cm = 43.3

Why would anyone consider putting a Black-tip in tank. unless your Sea World:rolleyes: :mad2:

I have them from 6 to 12" and i would not put them in anything smaller than 500G they will not grow too fast if in a tank environment.

Interesting that you have 0 post and registered today and trying to sell these sharks. Black tips should be left in a large public aquarium or the ocean.

I see your a boat captain, are you catching these yourself? And just for clarification are you refering to this type of shark?

I read somewhere that they were trying to stop people from flooding/spamming? the club forums to get their 50+ posts to be able to sell things in the selling forums.....so posts in the club forums are no longer added to the count....

Also, those sharks need to go back home.....IMO.....

Some of the club organizations such as this one is beginning to turn into the lounge (off-topic threads) and posts from what I know are no longer counted. I am glad of this too because some people can rack up lots of posts talking about "cars for sale" or "other OT threads" going on.

I would never put a black tip shark an any aquaria. I think it's cruel to put a pelagic (open ocean) shark in a defined volume. If you had to twist my arm, I would say you could minimally put this shark in a MASSIVE tank, at least 250,000 gallons. A 500 gallon tank??? Are you kidding? These sharks should really stay in the ocean.

I had a friend that put a black tip in a 1000 gallon tank and within one week it died due to stress.

People keep nurse sharks in home shark tanks and they can grow over 9 feet i was just posting to see if anyone was interested because I know of people who have had them before and would keep them for a year or two them release them again. Also I do not keep them in my own tank if anyone wanted them i would dive or catch them on one of my charters.

Also I would not allow anyone to have one of these unless they had a shark tank adaquite for their survival this post was not on here to make people upset but just to see if there was a market for them and if anyone wanted one if they had truble finding them because I have had friends that had small ones in tanks before and kept them till they reached about 5-10lbs then released them again. Sharks are not for beginners and do take alot of work but it can be done.

Other sharks that are comonly kept in tanks and avaerage adult size, cat shark can grow up to 87", horned sharks 38", most common bamboo shark 40", and when they are young shark keeping books recomend only at least 400g, 150g, and 175g tank respectively.

Respectively? We should respectively keep Black tips and other open ocean swimming sharks in the ocean. Nurse sharks while they can get to a pretty impressive size are not quite the voracious swimmers as a Black Tips. Nurse sharks tend to be more idle.

Its absolutly cruel that some people are so ingnorant to keep this beautiful animal in a small aquarium.

You sure are since your trying to sell sharks that belong at a minimum in a public aquarium.

this post was not on here to make people upset but just to see if there was a market for them

I know Im not upset. But I think its pathetic that during shark week your trying to captalize on an animal that does not belong in a home aqarium.

No it was not about it being shark week there are alot of small sharks off the coast and some of the fish stores around here have had people asking about sharks and I posted on here instead of in a fish store becuase I didnt want one to go to just anyone i figured people on this site would have the knowlegde and an adaquite enviorment if any one had a shark tank.
