Eductor help on a closed loop question

Its been a while since I posted, but I am setting up a 450g reef (very little SPS) from my little 125g, but right now I am having a hard time deciding this.........

I have a hammer head pump 6000gph+ and I am using it for my CL. I have planned on using 10 3/4 eductors inside the tank with this pump. Does this sound about right or should I use less of them, or even more? Any advice would be great!

I would try sending a pm to mr. wilson. He has experience with eductors and can probably help with youre design.

you need a pressure rated pump, the hammerhead is a poor choice, the critical part is the head pressure caused by Eductors, so your pump must be able to pump against a significant back pressure.

the Panworld or Iwaki series are a good choice, however one pump alone will not be sufficient to run 10 Eductors, better to divide into two separate CL's, each with 5 Eductors; two Panworld 250's or Iwaki 100's would be sufficient

Look at the performance curve, look at the flow in "gallons per minute" when the pump is producing 23 feet (same as 10 PSI) and divide this number by 7 - (the ideal flow rate is 7 GPM at 10 PSI) - this is the number of Eductors you can use

i tried this very thing with a Hammerhead. it was a failure. not nearly enough pressure. very wimpy.
