eductors?

What exactly are eductors? I bought a setup (120) yesterday plumbed with eductors and haven't used these before. I'm wondering if I need them or should just use some locline fittings.

Eductors are devices that you put on a water return outlet that suck in nearby water in the tank and propel it out along with the water from the pipe. They can dramatically increase the flow you get from a return, but they require a pressure rated pump to work properly or you lose more flow than you gain.

Thanks, I'm going to be using an Eheim 1262 as a return pump. Is this considered a pressure rated pump?

I am not sure, but I would say no, your Eheim pump is not pressure rated.
