I think I may already know but that would suck. Can anyone confirm what this is? This thing is all of a sudden COVERED in this stuff.

If it's what i think it is, i'm disappointed. Haven' seen it before but added new frags a few weeks ago (but he said his tank was clean!). What's strange is that the color on this coral has been improving, showing growth and good color on the growth parts. If this is a pest I'd have thought the opposite. No other corals are showing these things.

What do you recommend i do?

Awww, man. That sucks. Looks like red bugs. I would remove and put in quarantine. Try Interceptor to treat. I have no idea where to get Interceptor besides a vet since its dog medication.

I could be wrong, but it does look like red bugs.

oh yeah red bugs...get it out...if its a new piece hopefully it hasnt spread...if not its all over your tank....and red bugs are not red they are yellow so that looks like them

argh. yeah figured. thanks for confirmation and links guys.

so looks like i can just dip it for an hour in an interceptor bath? any tips on how to get interceptor as i dont have a dog.

you need to treat your whole system, at least twice.....not a big deal at all.

I tried the one treatment method to the letter 3 times...fail....They supposedly have live brood...2 months later? bugs again...

Interceptor is for sure hard on shrimp, collateral damage if you will. I had good luck with a very high dose one time. I agree if it's in the tank now you MUST treat the whole tank or your just farting in the wind. Can I say that here?
