lol sorry wrong spot. Though I could use with your opinions on the vertebrates I have and whether they will get along ok or not.

skip the eel and get an engineer goby. They have nice a cool transition from juvinille to adult and wont harm your inverts. I have one in my reef and he is a trip to watch. Has a nice network of burrows under the rocks and usually has his head out looking around and will dart out to catch food at feeding time.

Thanks for that I am planning on leaving them off the list unless someone was able to mention a particular eel known for its placidness or vertebrate safeness.

Ive just read about a heap of people who have had success in keeping the Ribbon Eels as they are the most placid and rather than getting larger they just get longer. Their mouth is only big enough to fit in tiny fish and tiny shrimp as opposed to what I would class as small (clowns etc)

Anyone know much about ribbon eels?

ribbon eels are very hard to care for and rarely survive in captivity. and are a bad idea for a beginner

Yeah Ive read that heaps, I certainly wouldnt give it a go until I had this tank up and running for 12 months or more if everything was going well. Generally speaking are eels better to be added first, middle or last in a tank setup?

Ie. Would an eel survive better if it was allowed time to settle in a tank on their own just with a cuc and corals or would and eel do just as well being placed into and established community?

I 2nd the engineer goby, everybody thinks mine is an eel anyways!

That will be quite the hoppin tank, if you can get everything to get along peacefully!

Good Luck

Thanks,

Yeah still trying to refine the list each day. Ive decided to remove the Damselfish as from what ive read\heard you really want to have a large number of them otherwise they will nip at eachother trying to find the most dominant one. This means that I could loose a few of them in the process. Not worth the risk.
