eel for a reef

A LFS gets blue, black and ghost in regularly lately. They have had great success in getting them to eat. I'll ask them next time I'm there. I started mine with grass shrimp. He'd snatch 'em up and he slowly turned onto frozen squid pieces. Now, after 3 months in my tank, he'll swim upto the surface at feeding time and take the squid from my fingers. Initially, he'd come upto the top water column and swim around. Now, he's content to stay in a rocky cave and watch the happenings. I know everybody will jump on me for this but alli have for cover is eggcrate. So far, neither the zebra nor ribbon have tried escape. I'm betting the larger the tank, the lower the risk for carpet surfing. One other funny thing, when the zebra comes out, my sailfin tangs will flash him and display their fins and he'll back away. Funny behavior.

Haha thats awesome!

Has anyone tried garden eels? I was looking to make a ledge with a deep sand bed and have a few there. From what I have been reading I didn't think they would be a problem with anything else as long as I kept them well feed.

I had a leopard eel that got along with everyone fine in my reef tank for two years. The only reason I got rid of him was because I moved.
