eel question

I recently purchased a ghost eel from the lfs. He has been eating well and very active. Today I noticed some large long bumbs in his stomach about half way back in his body, could it be possible it is pregnant or do eels lay eggs. I thought maybe it is just something he ate I am not sure let me know if anyone has an answer.

Could you describe what you're feeding him? (I don't think it's pregnant, unless ghost eels are very unique)

A photo would really help if you can manage it. I know belly shots can be hard to take.

What is the tank's substrate, though? He could be irritating his belly if it's too rough.

mine eel does same thing after it eats without seeing its probably food
