i would like to set up a 90g moray tank. which eel would be best suited to it? is it possible to keep maybe a pair of eels?

also i was thinking of not having any substrate. what are your thoughts on that?

all suggestions welcome.

i would suggest something bigger than 90 the only eels i can think of that would live entire life in a 90 is dwarf eels and they have a decent price tag you would prob be looking at 400-500 bucks for a pair not many people know this but snowflakes do get big. get something like a 200 and you can have fun with some really nice eels

I have kept snow flakes for years, They don't get as big as other eels. You could keep a pair of snowflakes in a 90 IMO. Just make sure you have a completely enclosed top. They can get out of very small openings. They will leave the water.

I have a pair of snowflakes and a sm. zebra in my 120,soon to be 210. The snowfalkes are about 13.5in each and have been together for at least 8 monthes ....
- So yea, im sure you can. But you HAVE to buy them at the same time if you introduce simutaneously they will be ok, otherwise they will fight till you either have 1 or none ...

ive been with snowflakes that are 28 inches its true they dont get as big as other eels but they do get to a good size and having an eel thats almost 3/4 the size of its tank cant be all to comfortable but thats just my opinion

I second, or third, or ah, whatever the snowflake. Get a couple of them. They grow relatively quickly and if you get them while they are small it is easier to train them to eat frozen food. Atleast in my opinion.

thanks guys for your opinions.
i think ill go for a lsightly bigger tank and go for a bigger eel.
how big do you reckon would be ok for a whitemouth moray?

ide suggest a 150-180 gal then you can keep alot more of the eels white mouth would do well in a tank that size as well, depending on your price range dragon morays and would do well in that size tank
