If possible could anyone give me some info on eels? Im tring to decide if should get one. But i need to know what they can be with and cant be with, also if i get one it would be nice if it was full grown around 1.5 to 2 feet max. Any info would be great.

eels is a pretty broad spectrum...its almost like saying i need a fish. tank size and mates would give a better idea what kind your after

Here is a link with a listing of a lot of different eels.

Eels

Remember some of these eels do grow to quite a large size and need to be feed aleast 2 to 3 times a week. A good size eel is going to produce a good amount of waste and along with the feeding that are require will have an impact on your biology system. So you need to take that into account. Also take into account that some eels will eat most of your inverts so if you plan on keep shrimp or crabs you mayn't be able to do it.

That being said there are a # of smaller eels that will do very well. Just stay away from the Ribbon eels as even though they're very pretty and non-aggressive they usually don't eat and have a very bad track record of making it.

Thanks so much for the info marrone. It helped out alot . So much i think ill pass on getting a eel.

Ive had a white ghost eel for just about a year now and I love it....its just about 2' long and about as thick as a marker...eats frozen silversides like there is no tomorrow! Great little fish and doesnt seem to bother any of my other fish...The next best thing to a ribbon eel....
