Eels & ich

My main tank had a bad outbreak of ich. All of my fish have been in a Hospital tank w/ low salinity for about two weeks now. I am going to buy an eel and thought that it would be a good idea to add him in the tank for a bit alone so that he would find a home and not be picked on so much by my triggers when I add them... I have searched around but cant find anything about eels being resistant to ich or not. So does anyone know for sure if they can carry the ich parisite or not? Ive found people saying they "think" it can or can not but I need to know for sure. I dont want to put anything in the main tank that can act as a host for the parasite until the tank has been fish free for 30 days.... anyone?

They are more resistant to ich yes but they can definately get it. Any bony fish CAN get ich. I would not put the eel in there until the tank has sat fallow (without any fish) long enough to make sure the parasite is gone. Normally this is done in a month to 6 weeks.
