effects of MH lighting on your eyes

I have an open canopy with SE MH lighting, its high enough in the air that you can see the bulbs. While I never stare at the lights certainly they catch my eye often enough. I thought I read where DE MH lights need glass to block the UV but what about SE MH? Anyone have any thoughts?

SE already have the shield built into the bulb

One thing to note...it has been learned recently that the outer shield on a SE bulb does little to block UV so take that into consideration. In short don't look at the bulbs not just because of the possible radiation but you will fry your receptors out. 8)
