I'm getting an ozonizer within the next week. Heard many great things about them.
I've heard that the o3 is so reactive that it often breaks down the plastic of the skimmers it's injected into. I'm using an old coralife skimmer for my reactor so I'm not worried about the wear and tear and I've created a carbon chamber from PVC for around $10. The next thought that comes to mind is "Since ozone is so reactive it breaks down the plastic materials it touches, Is there any chance that as it's breaking down these plastics there are harmful waste products being released/leached from that plastic?"
Does anyone have any literature about the exact effects of o3 on the plastic skimmers it so often gets injected into????
