Effects of salinity too high?

What are the effects on inverts and corals of salinity being too high? The salinity in my tank reads about 1.030. I am slowly trying to lower it down to be closer to 1.025. I haven't lost any inverts yet, but the corals are all looking all looking like a brown orange color. Will these return to form after I get these lowered? Any advice/insight is welcome!! Thanks.

I'm not sure coral color is related to much to SG.. I'm sure I'm wrong but that's ok. I would be looking more at the ionic balance.. see everything is based on the tank water being 1.022-1.025 SG. When you have more salt in the water like that other components of water chemistry get all out of wack. I bet that your PH and dKh are both a little low... explaining the brown color. I would lower SG by adding RO/DI water with kalkwasser to help bring those levels up (if they are low in the first place) as well as dropping the SG. I think that you can lower SG at a faster pace then you should raise it. Hope that helps. Just test all your params to see what's going on. GL!

as long as it didnt get there to fast you should be ok just drip some ro water back to get it down, slowly is the key you dont want sudden changes
