efficient foam question

I just added my live rock to my tank and I'd like to know how to get the most out of my skimmer. How wet/dry should the bubbles be and how small?

The answer to this question has been debated over and over, so there will be different opinions on how wet or dry you should skim.
In my view, I like to get a dry foam in the collection cup, this will get me to have a thick milkshake type waste which in turn leads to removing more organics and proteins.

Give the skimmer and rock some time, you will end up cleaning the collection cup everyday for ahile in the beginning until the tank cycles.

wet skimmate will have more tank water inside it. The more wet the more tank water.

If you have an auto top off keep an eye on your salt level. As wet skimming will reduce it over time stressing livestock out.

Well, I guess I'm doing it right. The bubbles don't really flow into the collection cup, they kinda flop around at the top of the tube. There is some brown water that has collected tho... Does that sound right?
