Efflo with 2 color polyps

Has anyone seen one like this. When I got it it was brown and now the new growth has different color polyps. The body is more green and the edges are purple. The polyps on the inside are a brown/green and the polyps on the edge are light in color.

LOL, I love buying the brown ones that look good and letting them color up. When got it it was brown and had AEFWs on it. It also had a nice dead spot which is almost covered up now.

Colonies with new polyps that are different color aren't common, but they aren't unheard of.

i have a tiny frag that sounds just like that. hopefully it will keep that coloration when it grows out.

Well it's not a frag. This is what it looked like on 3-4-06 and what it looks like now. BIG difference, I think it's a little happier.

I have a small frag of a greenish/blue colored one with the same polyps as those pictured. I just thought the new growth started out light colored and became darker the coral matured. But sure looks nice. Your peice is much much bigger than mine.

The pic is a little bluer then the real thing but you know how pictures come out. It's about 5-6" across and I bought it for $100.

yes this is common ammong some acros these are pretty comon. i have the same "problem" but mine is a white polyp vs. a brown one. the white polyps seem to be growth edges and the grown/green are old growth.

Different color polyps in A. solis/efflos are pretty common.

Sounds like my efflo. Greenish brown center and purple new growth with bright green polyps.

Have waited paitiently for over a year for the middle to color up but no luck. The thing grows like a weed though. It has grown up the back of the glass almost 3-4 inches now.
