eggs on clam

I picked up a crocea clam today that looks to have a clutch of eggs of some sort near the top of it's shell. They look like spider eggs. Any idea what they could be and how I can get rid of them?

Likely not a good thing for the clam. Examine it carefully to make sure it does not have any attached snail like hitchhikers.

Agree with seapug, scrub them off!!

That's what I did. I've never seen anything like it. I was aclimating it and noticed the cluster. Weird. I wonder what they were.

Probably pyrams snails eggs, one of the most common hitchikers found on clam... Srub them with a toothbrush and watch carefully for the 7-8 next weeks if they are not back. Pyrams snails are clams predators, they go out at night and eat their mantle.

Nah, not really fuzzy, just tightly clustered. They had brown dots in the center of each egg. I really wish I had a better camera so I could get some good pics.
