"Eggs" on tank glass

Just got back from a business trip to find "eggs" all over the glass of my 180g. The look like chicken eggs! White on the outside, yellow on the inside. There are probably 40 of them on the glass....no place else that I can see. The are too small to get a picture, but are about half the size of a pencil eraser (maybe just a little smaller than that). This is my first encounter of anything like this.

Any ideas??

Do you have nassarius snails? I have them and they used to lay line of tiny white eggs all over the glass.

pictures would help.

if they are just single eggs all over then i believe you have nerite snail eggs, if they are in a winding pattern more likely turbo or trochus snail eggs (or possible cerith)

Not a typical snail egg. I have neither nerite or nassarius snails.

There doesn't seem to be ANY pattern to them!

Best picture I can get. Yes I know my glass is filthy.

Well, they look like "typical" nerite to me. My FW ones lay eggs like that all of the time. So.....what kind of snails do you have?

those look very much like nerite snail eggs to me also, are you sure you dont have one or two that might have hitchhiked in?

I had the same thing and they grew up into Limpit Snails. The little pyramid shaped guys that show up on live rock pretty often.

I agree. Could be Nerite or the type of Nassarius in this area that propagate readily. My Nassarius lay eggs that look just like that.
