I wanted to know what everyones opinions were on the eheim aquastyle nano tanks. Specifically the 16(9 gallon), I saw on setup at my local fish store and he had some smaller soft corals in it along with some shrimp and a small clown. It comes with lighting and filtration, and I can get a really good deal on one. Would like to get it or one similar for my desk.

So any opinions on how the lights/filtration are on their setups?

The 9 gallon is the Aquastyle 35. I bought one over the summer for my dorm. I love the design of the tank and the rimless style, but the equipment didn't make it very long. The light is nice and bright, but has a very yellow tint which makes it unappealing to the eye. It wasn't long before I replaced the stock light with something a little better. I ditched the filter right off away and went with the Subcurrent internal filter.

I eventually decided to ditch that filter and go with a custom sump that would fit into the stand that is sold by Eheim. I replaced the back panel with a drilled and tempered piece of 1/4'' glass to keep the setup clean.

They are cool little tanks, but I think you will end up spending a lot of money to get it set up for saltwater.
