Eheim automatic fish feeder malfunction

Ive been using the eheim automatic fish feeder http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001F...ish+feeder&dpPl=1&dpID=51RvfhaC92L&ref=plSrch for about a year now and have been happy with it but yesterday morning I woke up to find it had emptied the contents into the tank due to being stuck in rotate mode I scooped and syphoned out all the pellets luckily I think I got 99% of the pellets out of there. I changed the batteries in the feeder and now it's working just fine. Ill keep the amount of pellets in the feeder low incase it happens again I just wanted to let others know about the problem

i use the dual eheim feeder..... i keep all auto functions at a level that will not destroy the tank if malfunctions happen; however, never thought about the autofeeder. thanks for sharing!

Good to know. I've been using them on all my tanks for years and have never had that problem.

Yeah I'm using a single chamber, good to know about batteries, thanks.

When the battery gets low, there is a tendency towards problems. My dual feeder has a battery indicator and I change when it is less than full and do not wait until it is "low"
