Eheim fish feeder to Apex or?

Did anyone ever make the Eheim work with Apex or any other fish feeder? I know Apex carrys one but I heard they loud and not very good.

I've been wondering the same thing. I stuck with the Eheim but wondered why there were so many AFS for sale everywhere.

One good thing about the APEX is that you can check that it is working if you are away for a few days.

It is definitely overkill. The only reason I have one is because it was free for me so I hooked it up. It's easy to set up and you have the remote access/control ability. It is pretty loud when it runs but oh well. You can turn off your pumps to coincide with feedings... this is overrated in my opinion as fish know how to get food in a current.

More than once I've gone to remove the food barrel, only to have the lid pop off and tons of food spill into the tank. Design is less than optimal here. The food door is also not as variable as it should be for smaller pellet sizes. You either get 10 pellets (first notch) or 200 (second notch). There isn't really a way to get 50-100 pellets (for example).

In my opinion, the only reason to get one is the ease of use as there is no need to reprogram it after a dead battery (compared to other types). But I'd never pay for a new one.

Good to know. Like I said, I was seeing these being sold from numerous buyers and that raised a red flag for me.

I have a lightly used SICCE 9.0 return pump if anyone is interested [emoji23]

Just program the Apex to coincide with the programming on the fish feeder. No need to control it with the Apex. If you really need it to you can trigger it by adding a relay and parrelleling it with the manual feed switch. The how to was in the Archon thread on here, but the photos are probably not there after the photobucket issue.
