Hi everyone,
I have had an Eheim Jager 300w in my 125g tank since starting the tank last year. It had always been reliable until a couple of weeks ago when I noticed the water was down at 62 deg. Poor corals didn't look great but I replaced the heater with the spare I'd bought, slowly raised the temp and they recovered.
When I had a play with the heater it would only come on when the temp. Scale (blue spinner) is turned to max. The heater was calibrated properly before I think as I had no problems with temp for at least 6 months, the. It was quite a sudden change. I've just turned the heater to max and left it in a 25g dustbin to heat my water change water; it's been in there for 24 hrs with a jager 100w and even though it's massively overpowered it's only got the water up to 72 deg.
Has anyone had similar problems or have any idea what might be up with it? Jagers are supposedly so reliable it feels a bit rubbish to have one break so early.
Thanks for any help!
