Eibl's Angel experience?

i picked up 2" or so Eibl's Angel from a LFS the other day, he's doing great and not nipping at any corals and started eating some mysis and grazing. before i hadnt ever heard much about them so i was wondering if anyone has ever ran into any complications with them?

i know they get up to 6" and he will be going into a 55g

They're tough... but they do get kinda angry as they get older and can terrorise smaller tankmates. That said, very personable fish and quite pretty...

I have 2 in my FOWLR , never touch mush and nem in this tank.
I got first 9 months ago, close to 1.5 inch size , 2 months ago got a second one 1.5 inch fish and hopefully they pair up.
Pretty shy in my angel mix tank ...never bully and never being bullied... first class fishes...

so far so good. the angel isnt bullying the clowns. the female just makes sure it doesnt get to close to her anemone. it did rip off some zoa polyps that were already dead (they got squished on the glass when i was moving stuff around) but other than that it shows no interest in any of the corals, even the healthy zoas from the same colony.

i started with trying chopped up PE mysis and it ate those a bit. yesterday i fed them some more chopped PE mysis and brine shrimp and the angel ate well. i threw some NLS pellets in later on in the day and it only showed a little interest in them. it has also started grazing on some of the hair algae on the back wall.

it still is very shy though, dashing into caves in the rocks if you make sudden movements. im hoping in the next week or 2 it will get bolder. i hope it does well, this is my first dwarf angel after lots of research on the different types.

I had one, and it was one of my favorite fish I've ever had... Beautiful, great personality, just a great fish... Then, one day I came in and it was dead. Went from beautiful, lively, eating well to, well, toast in the space of a day. Here's hoping you have better luck!

I had one that did great but after a few months started munching on a few of my acros so he had to go. Right now I have a flameback angel (centropyge acanthops) that has started munching on both my acropora millepora colonies. I will be catching him out soon. I have also had centropyge that never once touched anything for multiple years. just goes to show with this genus you never know what they are going to do till you put it in the tank
