Electric blue xenia

Just couldn't pass these up.:rollface: Not openend all the way yet, just put them in. Any tricks about keeping xenia that anyone wants to share would be great.

Ill second that, give them light let them grow and ill clear a spot. Nice almost bought some about three weeks ago but couldnt swallow the price

Nice xenia!!! In my experience they need lots of light and temperatures below 80F.

Very nice! I bought a small frag of those (<10 heads) about 6 weeks ago. It's been growing like a weed and I already have two frags started for a couple of friends. I'm up to >40 heads now.

Eh, they will grow like weeds, like any xenia eventually does. I like them a lot!!! Can't say I've seen too many with that color. I like 'em!

where did you find such a beautiful xenia? i have two of my own and are real easy,and grow fast .

they need iron doseing to keep them pulsing... which i didn't know...

other then that i've never had any problems with mine...

i like them becuase you don't need absolutly perfect water and their still ok...

It is probably a Cespitularia sp. not the easiest to keep or find. I ordered some in a while back and about 1/2 didn't make it past the first week but the rest did well. dosnt look like a real xenia the polyps stalks dont have common base

I also have some. They do lose that nice blue color once they start to get bigger. Here is mine. Dont pay attention to the aiptasia in the picture.

Yes you are right that is what they are.

Here is a linl that explains the difference between xenia and anthelia. Anthelia does not pulse. Did not mean to mislead anyone, just thought they are the same thing. www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-02/ac/feature/index.

Mine does pulse when the power heads are off. But you can not see it pulse when they are in flow.
