Elegance coral

So as I have eluded to in another post my elegance collection is not doing good . I have 3 colonys of what I call budmans purple haze elegance that I frag 20 + times a year. That started off a colony from about 20 years ago. I also have a big pink tipped australian that I have had for 3 years. 2 green with blue tipped I got over 4 months ago and 1 bright electric green I got 2 months ago. All was going good until I added the last one . All my elegances look like death except the 2 blue tipped green ones. They had a white stringy cotton look to them all tentacles shrunk I lost a couple frags. Don't know if this is elegance coral disease or chemical warfare. Either way not good. I have seperated the new one that I suspected after the first month and they are slowly recovering. I have done a couple water changes and I am running my skimmer wet. I am also going to add carbon to a reactor.

That's terrible to hear. It's an amazing collection that you have and I hope you figure out what is happening and that they all recover.

You were the one that inspired me to frag my Australian which have recovered beautifully and have even started growing again.

So here is an update with pics. I removed the one that had ECD as it was not going to make it . My elegances are boucing back but slowly. Wish I would have taken pics and documented it. As I always doubted that as the problem now I believe. I did not lose any of my main pieces I did lose about 3 or 4 frags. These are the only elegance frags I have lost. All the white stringy cotton looking stuff is gone color is coming back and starting to expand better. Oddly enough two colonys did not even get phased and they were put in two months before.

Budman I'm glad to hear and see they're doing better.

I've got a question for you. My Elegance after one night when I fed it all of a sudden started to become Puffed up all over. Almost like it ingested a lot of water but kept it in. My parameters were good accept for nitrates. I had skipped a WC by over two weeks and was over feeding my fish and... Nitrates of 60-80. :hammer:

Well I've started getting them down with 20% wc weekly instead of two weeks and started dosing NoPox. Still waiting for the NoPox to start working but I've got the nitrates down to around 20. The elegance is looking better but still puffy at times though not as bad and parts of it are faded in color. The tentacles on the best looking part are colorful and have their purple tips but the others are kinda clear with no purple tips.

I have done 3 dips in Revive and think it's helped. Any idea what happened or what I can do to help it out? I have not been feeding it since this happened but it does catch food floating around in the water. So it's better but not well yet. So any advice you can offer is much appreciated.

I have had mine puff up several times . I feed my tank heavy and it gets what it catches. I think your headed in the right direction. They can be a tricky coral that is slow to recover.

Thanks for the info. I haven't done a dip in Revive in two or three weeks, do you think I should dip it again, or just wait it out?

Ok, thanks for your help. I'll just keep an eye on it and do nothing as long as it doesn't start getting worse.

I do notice during the day at some point it starts to shrink and I'm thinking from too much light. So I reduce my lighting when this happens. The other corals think it's night time and time to go to sleep LOL But my elegance expands more when I lower them. New lights coming today  Getting rid of the Chinese Black Box for a Ocean Revive Arctic T-247-B

Yes I found that out the hard way. When they want light they respond well and when they don't not so much...

I need help please….recommendations.
Running out of options….
