Elegance had a dead jelly looking spot -- what now?

Hi,
I know from experience elegances are hit or miss, much more miss. This is my second one I have in my tank currently. There is a first one that is still looking amazing. The second one I've had in tank for 10 days approx. The first one for just over two weeks. The second, 'sick' one that had the jelly spot, is a blue tip and sold by liveaquaria as australian, They have both been opening nicely, though the 'sick' one opening less the last few days, but still with long tentacles, just at maybe 70% opening (along the entire length of it).

Last night on the left corner, there was a light colored jelly looking spot about 1/2" wide with dark spots on it. I suck it off with an airline tube. It was for sure part of the elegance. A very small spot of skeleton was left. This a.m. the entire coral is stilll looking decent (not yet opened as it's early in day), The first elegance has no sickly indications.

When I've had elegances die off (and there's has been a few or more), they just died and got jelly looking at the very end (at death of the entire coral). This one had the jelly piece while it is still looking good. So I'm slightly hopeful.

**But, do I need to remove it now so the 'good' one doesn't get 'infected'? The "good' one is a pink tip (which I had success with in the past). I've always been suspicious of non pink tips even if advertised as aussie. I have an older bottle of Coral RX dip also. Or maybe do a fresh water dip?

I'll post a pic later << not of the jelly, unless it happens again. But of the elegances as they are now. :-D
Thanks.

Could my hungry bristle tail file do this?

Could my hungry bristle tail file do this?

**I have a bristle tail file fish in my tank. He's eaten all my aiptasia (at night apparently, b/c I never seen him eat one, but it had to be 'him'). I'm pretty sure he's eaten parts of my xmas worms (which regenerated). The elegance was at most half opened after I came back from reefapooloza in orlando -- I was away two days and 'he' wasnt fed. So maybe he got hungry and took a piece out of the elgance? The elgance right now is opened 1/2 or more, but looks good overall. It doesnt look 'sick'.

Yes.. I thought of that. Not so easy, partly b/c my fuge is full of rocks and plants.. and killer hermits :-D ... I'm posting a pic of both elegances. "Sick one" in front.. "good one" (maybe both are good) in back.

here's the pic of the elegance in ? in the front, other one in back of it.
