elegance problem

been awhile since I havemade a post but I know you guys know what to do. I have an elegance that has been doing fine untill some flat worms showed up so I used flatworm exit in a 5 gal bucket and they ran for the top. but when I went to take the coral out I gave it a swish to clear any worms left and part of the soft tissue came away from the base and is wilting bad. is there any way to save this ?

Does the tissue look like it's just peeling away from the base? Or is it starting to look like jelly?

If it were any other coral maybe, but these guys are so sensitive and prone to various ailments, it's going to be an uphill battle.
That being said, I'd be going all out to make sure your parameters and everything else is up to snuff to try and give it the best chance possible.

I agree, if it's jelly there isn't much to do but possibly frag it, I don't know if there's a way to frag an elegance if it is doing that. I'd set it up in a QT and make sure your parameters are all good, and you can try feeding it every other day. That's helped some lps I have had bounce back really fast.

I had an aussie elegance for almost two years with no problems at all, and then for no apparent reason it went from thriving nicely (apparently, anyway) to complete jelly in about a day. No significant changes in tank chemistry that I could detect, no other corals having problems. I was surprised by it because my understanding was that elegance corals are actually supposed to be fairly hardy if: (1) they are Aussie, rather than Indo; and (2) they have been pretty well established in captivity for some time. Not so much, at least for the one that was in my care.

thanks everyone so far no jelly just all drawn in. I will keep an eye on the peramiters. the only thing off is my nitrates they are around .5.

Keep it in a lower flow area so as not to strain the tissue and help it recover. Do make sure there is some flow though to help it remove waste though.
