Elephant Ear Problem?

I have a Giant Elephant Ear that is around 12" across when fully expanded. I have noticed that in one of its outer fold a small tear in its skin and it looks like a bundle of white threads are coming out of the tear. is this how the ear divides? Any info would be appreciated.

I dont believe so.... I was under the impression that they divide themselfs, not really... tear themselfs. Perhaps it was attacked and that would explain the while stringy things, its intestines. IME mushrooms shoot thier guts out when they're stressed. If it where tears, then it was obviously stressed. The mushroom should be able to pull itself back together. I wouldnt worry too much about it. As long as it gets enough flow to prevent bacteria from deteriorate the mushroom.
