Elevated Nitrates

To make a long story short back about a year ago I found out that my phosphate testing was way off. The cyno problem was growing and I have been able to properly moniter my PO4 better since then with the application of GFO. The result has been that the cyno is starting to die over the past year, but I'm seeing a rise in nitrates. So I'm wondering if the breakdown of the cyno is contributing to this?

that could be it.thought about adding some macro? maybe that could help.

Thanks for the input. I don't have a fuge and my fish would eat the macro.
The GFO really pulls out the PO4. The nitrates are another issue. We really don't want to go to BP and I don't have space for a large enough fuge with the tank being 125.
