My first thought would be it looks like a snowflake but i cant see his body, try and get a body shot when u feed him

out of about 100 pics those two were the best it's really hard to get a pic of this guy because he only comes out when I'm feeding and as I found out it is really hard to hold the tongs to feed him and try to take a picture. He has a very fast growth rate and I baught him as a marbled eel.

Does he look like this with the brown w/ gold spots? Also the eyes should be similar.

Gymnothorax miliaris..... Goldentail moray.

Carson,

Take a look at Scott Michael's Reef Fishes volume 1. There is a good chapter on moray eels with lots of pics. If you can find your eel there will be good information on size, diet, temperament, etc.

I think you will find it there.

My inclination is that it is a Goldentail, but another possibility is a juvenile Whitemouth Moray, Gymnothorax meleagris. The only thing that makes me doubt the Goldentail ID is the color of the eyes. I have not seen too many Goldentails, but I have never seen one with blue eyes...they all have the yellow eyes. The most common eye color with the Whitemouth is blue....

But the sure give away would be to determine whether the inside of the eel's mouth is white.

Carson can you confirm the inside color of his mouth?

got two more pics they still suck but they are at differant angles. I think the inside of his mouth is white not positive though.
